“Botero” solid wood and leather lounge chair – WEWOOD

The Botero lounge chair by WEWOOD, designed by Fabricio Ronca in 2024, combines comfort, visual lightness and a strong design identity through the meeting of solid wood and natural leather.

The project originates from careful research into the narrative value of materials and traditional craftsmanship techniques. The wooden frame, defined by curved elements and meticulously crafted joints, supports a leather-upholstered seat, creating a balanced and enveloping composition.

Botero is not merely an armchair designed for relaxation, but a furnishing piece capable of telling a story through its forms, materials and construction details.

A name between craftsmanship and the maritime world

The name Botero comes from the Spanish language and carries a dual meaning. It can refer to the artisan who makes containers traditionally used for wine, oil and vinegar, as well as to the boatman who slowly guides a vessel across the water.

These two references form the conceptual heart of the armchair: on one side, craftsmanship and knowledge of materials; on the other, travel, a slower pace and the imagery of the nautical world.
