The Penrose design console originates from a project by Isao Hosoe, in collaboration with Lucia Fontana and Masaya Hashimoto, and represents one of the boldest expressions of Tonelli’s research on glass. Through a sophisticated bonding process of glass sheets, finely finished with oblique cuts on every edge, the material bends upon itself, creating a structure that seems to defy gravity.
The result is a console that appears to be in perfect balance on a single point, transforming matter into an architectural gesture with powerful visual impact. Penrose thus becomes an aesthetic and functional metaphor for humanity’s desire to overcome natural limits through technique and design, reinterpreting glass as a structural and narrative element.
Available with a transparent or extra-clear glass structure, Penrose is characterized by an asymmetrical shape and an oblique joint along the side, details that enhance its dynamism and formal tension. A sculptural console, designed for entrance halls, living spaces and representative interiors, where design becomes the absolute protagonist.
