Rug “Checkmate” – KARPETA

The Checkmate rug is born from the encounter of different materials — wool, jute and cotton — which together create a surface rich in tactile and aesthetic contrasts. The natural softness of wool dialogues with the rougher, more raw character of jute, resulting in a rug that stages a sophisticated balance inspired by the strategic logic and dynamics of chess.

Handloom woven, Checkmate features a defined and structured texture, where the material blend of 45% wool, 45% jute and 10% cotton outlines a varied and dynamic relief. The Multicolour variant enhances the visual effect generated by the alternation of surfaces, reinforcing the sense of movement and composition.

The available standard sizes — 170 × 240 cm and 200 × 300 cm — are designed for different project contexts, but the model can be further adapted thanks to the possibility of customizing dimensions, shape and colour, making it particularly versatile.

The rug meets the main quality and safety requirements, complying with REACH SVHC criteria for nitrogen-free materials and passing the flammability tests CAN/CGSB-4.2 NO 27.6, CAN/CGSB-4.155-M88 and 16 CFR 1631.
