“Platform” Solid Wood Bed with Upholstered Headboard – WEWOOD

The Platform bed by WEWOOD, designed by Christian Haas in 2024, interprets the bedroom through a refined balance of solidity, visual lightness and comfort.

The design combines a generous solid wood structure with a slim, linear profile, supported by discreet metal legs that visually lighten the overall composition.

Completing the design are the large upholstered rear cushions, conceived to function simultaneously as a headboard and backrest, transforming the bed into a space dedicated not only to rest, but also to reading and relaxation.

A Substantial Structure with a Light Profile

One of Platform’s distinctive features is the contrast between the material presence of the wood and the lightness of its silhouette.

The solid wood structure defines the perimeter of the bed and gives the composition strength, while its slender design prevents it from appearing excessively heavy.

Designer

Christian Haas is a German industrial designer born in 1974 and founder of his own studio in 2000.

His work spans numerous disciplines, from furniture design and lighting to porcelain and glass objects.

His design language stems from the search for a balance between simplicity, elegance, functionality, emotion, durability and uniqueness.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with international brands including Rosenthal, Karakter, Arita2016 and Tecta, receiving awards such as the Red Dot Design Award and the Elle Decoration International Design Award.

His work also includes the ROPES lighting collection, held in the permanent collection of the Vitra Design Museum, as well as numerous projects developed for Karimoku New Standard.

Christian Haas lives and works in Porto, Portugal.
