Eclisse Table Lamp - ARTEMIDE

Eclisse is born from the encounter between formal simplicity, functionality, and design experimentation. Designed by Vico Magistretti in 1965, it has become one of the most iconic products of Artemide and of 20th-century Italian design, winning the Compasso d'Oro in 1967.

The principle that characterizes Eclisse is encapsulated in its name. Inside the outer casing is a mobile screen that can be rotated manually to partially or almost completely cover the light source. This allows the light to be adjusted without electronic systems, creating different levels of illumination and ranging from a more direct light to a soft, diffused atmosphere.

The compact, spherical shape makes Eclisse immediately recognizable. It can be used as a table lamp or mounted on the wall, finding space on bedside tables, consoles, desks, shelves, and small surfaces.

The body is made of steel and technopolymer. The classic painted metal versions are joined by PVD finishes, obtained through a vacuum metal deposition process that allows for decorative surfaces with a high aesthetic impact while reducing the use of traditional galvanic processes.

Eclisse is part of the permanent collections of important institutions dedicated to design, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and is still one of the progetti most recognizable designs by Vico Magistretti.
