Rug “Bala” – KARPETAA

The Bala rug belongs to the Papel collection, a series defined by the use of paper yarn — a material that brings unexpected charm and a distinctive tactile quality compared to traditional fibres. Handloom woven, the paper yarn creates a compact, graphic and surprisingly soft surface, while maintaining the natural sustainability and ease of cleaning that characterize this material.

The design concept of the collection is rooted in the transformation of simple forms into complex structures, achieved through the repetition of blocks and stripes and an articulated use of colour. Primary tones are paired with secondary nuances to generate a vibrant optical effect, while the loom structure produces interlacing lines that form dynamic, multidimensional patterns.

Bala thus becomes a rug that plays with visual perception, alternating defined colour fields and recomposed segments that suggest depth and movement. The different colour variants offer complementary aesthetic interpretations, ranging from bold contrasts to softer harmonies, adapting to a wide range of design choices.

Available in two standard sizes, the rug can also be customized in terms of dimensions, shape and colours, further expanding compositional freedom and allowing seamless integration into bespoke interiors.
