The Halfstripe rug originates from the encounter between textile memory and contemporary research. Traditional West African striped weaving techniques serve as the original reference, reinterpreted through an abstract and minimalist vision that transforms the ancestral motif into a powerful and contemporary graphic gesture.
The linear structure, marked by rhythmic contrasts between Black and White fields, defines an essential yet intense surface, working on the alternation between solids and voids. The stripes become a narrative and decorative element, suggesting movement, order and a perceptual depth typical of abstract expressionism.
Hand-loomed using 90% New Zealand wool and 10% cotton, Halfstripe offers a soft, compact and durable surface. The high weight of 4.5 kg/m² reflects a robust construction and significant textile density.
Alongside the two standard sizes, dimensions, shape and colour can be fully customised, allowing for tailored configurations and enhanced design flexibility.
The model complies with REACH SVHC requirements regarding nitrogen-free materials and meets international flammability standards CAN/CGSB-4.2 NO 27.6, CAN/CGSB-4.155-M88 and 16 CFR 1631.
